Quail Ministries, Inc. was
created in 1985 (501 c 3) by a cross-section of
professionals (accountant, architect, teacher,
pastor, and musician) with a mission to help
re-locate for the wounded in spirit, the
indelible, God given, joy resident in humans
hearts and ignited by faith in the mercy of
Jesus Christ. This they sought to do primarily
through the creative works and activities of
writer/performer, Michael Kelly Blanchard . The
first 15 years focused generally on collegiate
and faith-based communities, with the ministry
articulating a realistic hope and tangible faith
to these groups, through hundreds of MKB
performances; 15 full length albums; two musical
drama productions, numerous television and radio
appearances; a PBS National Holiday Special
(There is Love) with Noel Paul Stookey; as well
as a variety of workshops, seminars and retreats
across the country. Then in the next decade, QMI
teamed with professional chaplains in working
with two indispensable service sectors of the
human family: health care providers, through The
Stories Workshop program, and returning troops
and their families, providing original music and
presentations through the U.S. Army's 'Strong
Bonds' program.
As the spiritual and
organizational awning over Michael's work, Quail
Ministries seeks to be a tool in the belt of the
Divine Carpenter. Quail's goal and vision are to
be a piece in God's merciful mosaic as He
replaces our pain and loneliness with grace and
forgiveness. Through stories, story/songs, plays
and thought-provoking articles, Michael has
chosen a non-threatening vehicle in which to
tell of the larger Love that warms, heals,
encourages, redirects and corrects our smaller
loves.
